This beautiful melodious number, with playback of Manna Dey saab & Lata ji, is from one of the greatest film-maker in Indian cinema, Bimal 'da (Roy) 's Balraj Sahni-Nirupa Roy starrer 1953 social drama 'Do Beegha Zameen', with music that of Salil 'da (Chaudhury) & lyrics that of another great artistic personality Shailendra saab. Bimal 'da, as Bimal Roy saab was affectionately known as, was one of the greatest film-makers in the annals of Indian cinema, who made fine classics like 'Devdas', 'Madhumati', 'Sujata', 'Parakh' and 'Bandini'. This movie 'Do Beehga Zameen' was specially noted for actor Balraj Sahni saab's effective portrayal of a farmer fighting a loosing battle against the moneyed adversaies.
